A child with 2 episodes of jerking limb movements teacher says he doesn't concentrate in class what is the next best step ?


A- CT head
B- serum calcium
C- EEG
D- MRI

Serum Calcium.
Only 2 episodes of jerky limb movements, not seizures which would have presented in a tonic clonic manner.
Although inattentiveness can be mistaken for ' absences ' as in Petit Mal epilepsy.
Before I investigate further, I would do a metabolic profile.
